French Bread
Ingredients
2 1/4 cup of all-purpose/bread flour1 tsp of salt1 tbsp of honey1/2 tbsp of olive oil1 tbsp of oil (or more for the end)6 fl oz of warm wateractive dry yeast (take from a packet)
Directions
- Follow the steps on whatever
active dry yeastbrand you have to set things up - Add the
flour,honey,1/2 tbsp of oil,warm waterandyeastto a mixing bowl. Mix with a fork first, things will get sticky. You should be good to stop after10 minutes of mixing - Cover bowl with a
plastic wrapor atowelfor at least1 hour - Setup a
floured surfaceand place the mix on top. Knead it a couple of times then let rest uncovered for15 minutes - Shape the bread however you want and place on a baking sheet, cover the bread for
1 hourwith atowel or plastic wrap. By the end of the hour,preheat your oven to 400°F - When ready, score the tops of the dough and brush with the oil you have as much as you want
- Bake at your discretion, the original recipe wanted
18-20 minutesbut I may need to bake for roughly an hour
